What is LTL shipping?
Less-than-truckload (LTL) shipping is freight that shares trailer space with other shippers' cargo instead of filling the whole truck. It is priced by freight class or density, total weight, and the origin-to-destination lane — not by the full trailer. That makes LTL a practical choice when your shipment is too large for parcel networks but does not need the dedicated capacity of a full truckload.

LTL vs. FTL — which do you need?
LTL fits smaller shipments that do not need a full trailer — roughly under 10–14 pallets or 15,000 lbs. Full truckload (FTL) means your freight fills an entire trailer and moves directly from origin to destination, which is faster with less handling. FTL typically makes sense above roughly 10–14 pallets or 15,000 lbs.
